Shipton Gorge Parish Council

The Shipton Gorge Parish Plan Steering Committee was set up on 9 January 2008 when its Constitution was signed by the Chairman of the Parish Council, Cllr David Smith. Under the Chairmanship of Simon Cleveland, the Committee is in the process of producing a Parish Plan with help from various organisations and the village community.

A Parish Plan is a vision of how the residents would like their village to be. It is also a stepping stone for communities such as ours to apply for grants, such as those for transport and community services. Following an application to Dorset County Council, a grant of £2,372 was received to assist with the funding of the Parish Plan process.

The Steering Committee will in due course be presenting its draft Parish Plan to the Parish Council and further information will be published on this web site.
