Situated as it is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Shipton Gorge is an ideal base for exploring the rolling West Dorset countryside and the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.
What better place to start than the village itself, with its network of footpaths leading to quiet woods and meadows, stunning views of the coastline and leafy country lanes. Make a point of visiting the 14th Century St. Martin's Church, which is visible from almost everywhere in the village. Why not round off your walk at The New Inn, where you are assured of a warm welcome from Gary and Sandra in a typical country pub.
Visitors are most welcome to join in the many events that take place in the village.
